Rolling View Farm (RVF)
RVF is a multi-generation matriarchal farm. Established in 1891, the family name has changed but the mitochondrial DNA which is passed down only through the female line, remains unbroken. Starting in 2024, for the first time in the farm’s history, there are 3 matriarchal caretakers living, working, and dreaming about the farm’s future: Annie Kiessel, Christa Kiessel & Liz Morrison. RVF is a diversified regenerative farm that offers accessible produce, educational experiences, and opportunities to connect with nature to the community.
This unique 3 generational point in time at RVF is an era of remembering, reparations, and creating; Remembering all of our past, healing the brokenness that has left our soil depleted and communities disconnected and creating a new economy of interdependence. Everything at RVF revolves around healing the land, land justice, soil health, food and resource accessibility, and connecting people with each other and with the earth.
The Barn at RVF
RVF is also home to “The Barn at RVF”, a non-profit organization with the mission to be a place-based community center that protects the well-being of humans and the natural world, through community, stewardship, education, and belonging.
A Shared Vision
Rolling View Farm and The Barn at RVF have the shared vision to be of service and do good for the people of Leelanau peninsula, the water that surrounds us, the land under our feet, and those who may stumble upon this place hundreds of years from now.
